Year-End Closed Beta Wrap-Up

The year 2017 has come to an end and with it the Closed Beta test for Exodus TCG Organized Play.

2017 was Exodus' most successful year yet (including those soft-launch years) and we owe that all to you who've been playing the game and to those reading this now! Some highlights include Exodus singles becoming available on TCGPlayer.com, a featured iCv2 article, our 2nd showing at Gen Con in Indianapolis and the release of (Set 3) Crystal Forge!

We want to give a big thanks to everyone who has registered on the site and provided us with invaluable feedback during the last few months. February 2018 will see Organized Play go into Open Beta (available to everyone, everywhere) and Season 1 of competitive play shall begin!

Off-Season

Those who participated in the Closed Beta might have noticed at some point that the Rankings page displayed a message saying that the game was currently in-between Seasons and to "please check back at a later time". When logged in during those times, you might also notice that you have a different Drifter icon than any from the Rankings page. This is known as the off-season. For approximately 2 weeks out of each year, Exodus Organized Play will enter the off-season while final player rewards are paid out and the Season Rankings are reset. During the off-season, public Rankings will not be available, but profiles will instead show Lifetime Points and your Lifetime Ranking along with its Lifetime Drifter artwork icon. Lifetime points will be cumulative and will never reset. As you climb the Lifetime Level Ranking, you will unlock new Drifter icons and titles!

Seasons and How They Work

Each Season will last 1 year (minus 2 weeks).

Each Season will end in July (Summer) in order to best accomodate end-of-season championships and invitation-only events.

Season Rankings are separated by Top 10 and group Rankings. The Top 10 players will see their name displayed with a unique title and Drifter artwork icon, which will also appear on their profile. Especially during the start of a new Season, Top 10 may change rapidly as events are accepted. Beyond the Top 10 players, the 'group' Season Rankings are broken down into different tiers with the lowest tier being Rank 101+. The Drifter icon and title on your profile will change as you rack up Season points and climb the Rankings!

Remember, you don't necessarily have to be the best player to earn your spot at the top; Use the store locator and play in events often because you will always get at least 1 Season point just for participating in an event! Fallen behind or missed a weekly Tournament at your local game store? Try playing in multiple events per week at different locations offering Exodus events, or request a Sanctioned Booster Draft on-demand.

*NOTE: Constructed Tournaments and Booster Drafts have different requirements for the minimum number of players, but each type of event awards points in the same way. This is subject to change.

Season 1

Season 1 will be cut short by about 6 months, making it a sort of half-season. There are several reasons for this: 1) With Closed Beta ending, Season 1 will be an Open Beta meant to introduce new players and stores to Exodus competitive play. 2) The end of Season 1 in July 2018 will line up perfectly with new releases and will allow Season 2 to kick off with a new expansion set.

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from us at Existence Games! We hope you get to spend quality time with your loved ones and stay warm this Winter season.

Be sure to ask your local game store to start running Exodus TCG events if they aren't already, so that they can get in on the ground floor of Organized Play. Gather your friends, build your decks and start competing!
